A MAN has been arrested after a young woman with special needs was targeted in the capital earlier this week.

The vulnerable lady was stopped by a thug outside a special needs facility on Camden Street in Dublin on Monday.

He persuaded her to withdraw €20 from a nearby ATM before getting her to take out another €400.

The foreign national then walked her to a phone shop and told her to buy a €1,350 iPhone for him.

Afterwards, he took her to Weirs jewellers on Grafton Street to buy an expensive watch.

But staff at the plush shop became suspicious and the man fled the scene.
