According to the 2011 census for the United Kingdom, black people make up only 0.2% of the population in Northern Ireland. The BBC asks what's it like to be a young black person there? For reasons left unexplained, it means Africans identify as being Irish and African but never British.
Despite the low African population, one girl said she they always try to get one token African girl in everything. Who 'they' is was left unstated.
Another African man said Northern Ireland could become more culturally diverse and do away with the whole "Catholic and Protestant thing" despite the offence he says that would cause to what he described as "true Protestants and Catholics".
